Scout AI is an early-stage startup company working at the intersection of hiring and upskilling. Our mission is to increase the average skill level of everyone on the planet by an order of magnitude, while bridging the disconnect between education, interviewing, and hiring.

We are a lean and mighty team led by engineers from Meta who worked on Facebook Marketplace and Facebook Groups, based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Houston, TX. We have paying customers and recently raised pre-seed funding from world class investors at Neo, where we participated in the 2024 accelerator program. We also have the support of various angel investors and advisors from companies like Discord, LinkedIn, Google, and Uber.

Our product focuses on using AI to automate technical recruiting for companies by delivering growthful, enjoyable, real-world assessments for candidates at scale.

Scout AI's success depends on maintaining operational excellence while rapidly scaling our community of companies and candidates. As an Operations & Growth Intern, you will be a crucial team member helping to streamline our operations, support our growth initiatives, and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the business.

We are looking for an extraordinary and ambitious generalist to complement our technical team, who ideally has a background in one of the following areas: business, design, product, marketing.

This role is hybrid in Houston, TX (1 day in-office, rest is remote). Our office is in the Heights area and includes meals, snacks, and an unlimited supply of high-quality, freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee ☕.

Responsibilities

1. Support finance and governance-related tasks (taxes, accounting, documentation)
2. Assist with AI data labeling and quality assurance
3. Help manage and streamline candidate communications
4. Create engaging content for marketing and social media channels
5. Support various operational and administrative tasks as needed
6. Process and organize incoming physical and digital correspondence
7. Work at least one day per week at the office (in the Heights area)

Note: This role does not involve any programming.

A Day in the Life

1. Review and categorize candidate messages
2. Assist with AI training data preparation and labeling
3. Draft social media content and marketing materials
4. Support the team with administrative and operational tasks
5. Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
6. Sort and process incoming corporation mail and correspondence

First 7 Days

1. Ramp up to Scout context (learnings, domain, goals, operations)
2. Work closely with one of the founders to understand priorities and workflows
3. Begin owning day-to-day operational tasks
4. Support team with candidate communications and community engagement
5. Help establish and document operational processes

Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college / university
2. Superb organizational and time management skills
3. Excellent written and verbal communication
4. Proficiency with basic software tools
5. Outstanding attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
6. Interest in AI, hiring & upskilling, or startup operations
7. Bonus: Experience with company governance operations (taxes, accounting, compliance)
8. Bonus: Experience with social media management or content creation
